SaskPower crews worked the nightshift to restore power for some customers, and are still out there Thursday morning
Categories

Wednesday night's intense weather took out the lights for a section of SaskPower customers around Elrose, and while some spots flickered back on overnight, SaskPower crews are still on scene working towards a full restoration for their customers.

Two power grids, Rosetown-Elrose and Rosetown-White Bear, lost service at the same time on Wednesday. The initial report at 8:56 PM shared that SaskPower crews were dispatched to determine the cause and repair time for an outage affecting customers in Elrose, rural areas south to Kyle, and west to Plato.

At 3:14 AM SaskPower provided a positive update that all customers in Elrose and to the west had their service restored. Customers to the south between Elrose and Kyle were not as lucky as the lights remained off with no estimated time of restoration available.

An outage just east of Elrose and Kyle also took place at the Davidson - Coteau Beach Birsay power station. Crews halted work overnight due to safety concerns and expect to have the power restored sometime this morning after returning to work at 8:00 AM.

The Leader area is also dealing with the aftermath of an outage, as you can read more below.

If your power hasn’t been restored, you can contact SaskPower at 310-2220 for updates or report it online at saskpower.com/reportoutage.
