Today marks the 17th year of Burgers to Beat MS, a nationwide effort by A&W locations across Canada to raise funds and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Since the campaign began in 2008, A&W restaurants have worked together to support MS research and programs, raising more than $21 million.
“Canada is the place where the most MS is diagnosed in the world,” said Tamara Williamson. “It’s kind of an unknown thing—it’s not really high on the radar—but it’s something A&W has highlighted for a long time.”
All day today, $2 from every Teen Burger sold—whether it’s a single, double, or Beyond Meat Teen—goes directly toward fundraising for MS. But that’s not the only way to help. Customers can also:
-
Round up their bill at the counter or drive-thru
-
Make a direct donation at any time of the year
-
Donate $2 today and receive a booklet of six A&W coupons as a thank-you
Williamson noted that donations don’t have to wait until Burger Day. “Anytime, really. We collect throughout the year—we have a one-liter mug we use for donations.”
If you’re looking to make a difference close to home, stop by A&W in Steinbach today. Whether you’re craving a Teen Burger, planning a family meal, or just stopping by for a frosty root beer, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a great meal while helping fund important research and support for those living with MS.
