The Prairie Dirt Racing Association increases the atmosphere at any track it invades, and Kindersley was the lucky track this past weekend as they hosted two days of racing featuring the series alongside their regular competition.
A busier-than-usual race weekend typically takes an all-hands on deck approach, and the Speedway had some thanks to give on Wednesday once the dust finally settled.
"The sun has set on our 2025 PDRA Touring Series stop at Flatlanders," read the track's social media. "We want to thank all of the volunteers, especially Laurie and Laurel for all the hard work they put in prepping the track in advance, the lap counters and scorekeepers who kept the show moving, our pit boss who managed to keep over 60 cars pointed the right direction, our safety and tow crews, and everyone else who put time into the event. Thank you!"
Not only does the PDRA feature cars from across Saskatchewan, but from all over Western Canada. One of the hobby stocks came from Hinton, Alberta, while the mini sprints division saw a majority of the racers coming from BC.
"Thank you all so much for joining us and putting on a fantastic show!"
The racers might be responsible for the show, but it wouldn't be racing without the fans.
"A HUGE thank you to all of the fans who came out to support the track. We wouldn't be able to put on these incredible events without the support of the people in the stands!"
Another big part of the racing community is supporting other tracks, as fans should know that a big car count doesn't typically happen without a reciprocal effort. Many of the Kindersley locals travel to other tracks as well, making it an easy decision for others to come to Flatlanders multiple times a year.
"Thank you to all of the other racetracks that shared and promoted our event. #SupportSaskTracks is so important to the success and growth of motorsport in western Canada, that support means a ton!"
Flatlanders will take just under a month off before doing it all again for the tracks invitational weekend, the next races running September 13 at 3:00 PM and September 14 at 1:00 as more touring series action will be on the track along with the final chance to battle for Flatlanders points.
