The Steinbach Arts Council (SAC) is striking a harmonious chord this 2025 season with a concert series offering something for everyone.

Tara Schellenberg, performing arts coordinator at SAC, notes they have new and old talent, creating an exciting concert-going experience.

A mixed and musical bag

Schellenberg says some familiar faces will return this season, like the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. She notes new artists will also join the lineup.

“We've got a great lineup of concerts coming up,” she notes.

Ian Sherwood: East Coast Folk/Pop

Natural-born storyteller and gifted musician, Ian Sherwood, creates an intimate atmosphere by blending folk and pop melodies.

Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (MTC): Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad

The comedic tale follows a single mom and a single dad who meet during the hockey season.

“It’s actually based on a true story, the playwright saw this actually happening at his son’s hockey team.”

Prairie Sons: Classical Piano and Cello Duo

This dynamic duo brings their artistic vision to life, delivering unforgettable musical performances on strings and keys.

“Those musicians have each been named to CBC’s Top 30 Under 30. A really top-notch classical act.”

Proximus 5: A Cappella Vocal Ensemble

The Winnipeg-based five-voice a cappella group is known for their heartfelt and genre-bending performances.

“Combined, they’ve got 100 years of choral experience under their belt; they’re well sung.”

Schellenberg says it is great to have a range of performances for the series.

“We look across Canada and beyond for fresh, exciting acts. I’m so excited for the whole thing.”
