Team Sask entered Friday with 11 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze) at the Canada Summer Games in St John's, Newfoundland.

The latest tally came on Thursday night when Lila Stewart struck gold for the second time in diving, taking top place in the women’s 1m Springboard event. The medal followed up Stewart's gold medal performance in Artistic back on Tuesday, and a bronze medal in 3 metre springboards on Wednesday.

A few groups are seeking medals in the team competition as we move into playoff rounds on the weekend.

Lucky Lake's Kash Meyers and the men's volleyball team lost their first game against Quebec on Thursday. It was a close game decided in the fifth set by only two points. The loss placed Team Sask into a quarterfinal match against Manitoba this afternoon as you can follow along with Meyers and volleyball here.

The men's softball team entered the prelim games on Thursday at 3-1, after a 14-0 win against Manitoba ended Wednesday. Team Sask took on Nova Scotia and lost a tough 11-10 decision, as Delisle's Jordan Durham helped spark a comeback, but Nova Scotia clawed back to tie it and eventually take the extra innings win and move Saskatchewan to 3-2.

Team Sask was on the diamond first on Friday morning as they took a 12-0 win over New Brunswick to improve to 4-2. That was a rescheduled game from a rainout back on Tuesday, as Team Sask returned to the diamond this morning for their regularly scheduled game against BC, taking a 12-1 win to improve to 5-2 ahead of their final game against Ontario just after noon that you can watch along with here.

The women's wrestling team entered Friday undefeated in Pool A as team competition continued on Thursday, Wilkie's Avi'endha Beaugrand and Rosetown's Neda Robertson part of the 4-0 group that stayed hot with a 50-5 win over Manitoba. The Friday bouts have already commenced as Saskatchewan put their record on the line against also 4-0 BC, losing 39-12 to settle for a second-place finish in Pool A. 

The team competition will end later today as Saskatchewan faces Alberta for bronze, but that won't be the end of the road for wrestlers with Saturday set to feature individual bouts as you can follow along with the wrestlers in the links above.
