A 38-year-old woman has been charged with criminal negligence causing death after a 2-month-old infant died last September in northern Manitoba.

Lynn Lake RCMP say they were called to a report of an unresponsive 2-month-old infant. When officers arrived at the hospital, the infant was not breathing and was pronounced dead. The cause of death was determined to be drowning.

The Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services recently concluded their investigation and sent it to the Crown for charge consideration.

On Aug. 19, a 38-year-old female was charged. She will appear in court on Nov. 25.
