A Saturday night call north of town for the Kindersley Fire Department kept crews on scene into the early morning hours on Sunday.
At 10:22 on Saturday night the fire department was sent to a major shop fire just north of Kindersley, located west of Highway #21 just a short drive away from town. Two pumper units, one wildland, one aerial, one utility, two water tenders, and a command unit arrived on scene.
As the fight continued the fire department was assisted by additional resources, EMS, RCMP on scene for emergency services while SaskPower and SaskEnergy crews did their part to keep the situation safe. A local business, Hollands, also provided a water hauler to help the efforts.
At the scene of the shop fire there were determined to be four hot oiler truck units inside. The response lasted nearly five hours before the department was able to declare all losses stopped at 2:20 AM. By 3:43 AM all personnel and equipment were cleared for service.
The fire department gained praise on social media for containing the fire to a single structure, and early reports share that the shop belonged to Lynco Hot Oilers.
West Central Online is looking into the aftermath of the fire and will have more when it becomes available.
