The Grande Prairie Public Library is thrilled to unveil four brand-new library cards that put a playful twist on the traditional. Whether you're wild about woodland creatures, obsessed with dinosaurs, intrigued by mysteries, or prefer a minimalistic look, there's a card waiting to be discovered.

Library members can now choose from four unique designs, featuring a possum, Bigfoot, a dinosaur, or a classic black card; GPPL's original blue card remains available as well. The whimsical designs were brought to life by Emily Rempel, Children's Programmer –Outreach and Events at GPPL, who used their digital background to capture the imagination behind each card.

"These new cards reflect the spirit of curiosity, imagination, and fun that libraries are all about," said Hailey McCullough, Director of the Grande Prairie Public Library. "We wanted to give our community something a little unexpected – something they'll be excited to show off."

The new cards will be available beginning on August 29th. New members will be able to select their favourite design when signing up, and existing members are welcome to exchange their current card for one of the new designs at no charge for the remainder of the year. To ensure fairness, each member may exchange their card once during this period.

To celebrate the launch, GPPL will also be offering a sweet surprise: the first 100 visitors to sign up for a library card or swap their existing card on launch day will receive a custom cookie.

"Our new cards are a small way to say: the library is yours, and so is the adventure," added McCullough. "We hope they inspire a while new generation of readers and explorers."
