As the nomination deadline approaches for the 2025 Wheatland County Municipal Election, 10 residents have placed their bids to become councillors.
There are seven districts that the county covers, with each candidate choosing a specific district to run for.
Here is a list of everyone running in the Wheatland County Municipal Election as of Wednesday (Aug. 27):

- Jason Wilson
Division 3
- Donna Biggar (incumbent)
- Darlene Davis
Division 4
- Thomas Ikert (incumbent)
Division 5
- Scott Klassen (incumbent)
Division 6
- Glenn Koester (incumbent)
- Tony Watfa
Division 7
- Rick Laursen (incumbent)
If a division has only a single candidate running, that candidate will be automatically elected to the position.
The Town of Strathmore is located between Division 2, Division 4, and Division 5. Despite this, the town is having its own election separate from the county.
Election Day takes place on Oct. 20, with advanced polls opening earlier in the month.
