Drumheller has a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
On Sunday (Aug. 24), Darryl Drohomerski officially stepped down as CAO after eight years of service. Following his retirement, council appointed Ester Quiambao to take over the position.
“It has been an honour and privilege to serve the residents of Drumheller and help lead the staff through a period of great change in the organization,” said Drohomerski.
To prepare for the transition, Quiambao joined as assistant CAO in January, working alongside Drohomerski over the last seven months.
"Quiambao brings a broad and diverse background spanning the non-profit sector, oil and gas, engineering, communications and public relations, project management, asset management, and over a decade of progressive municipal leadership experience," wrote the Town of Drumheller in a news release.
Quiambao also serves as an active board member of Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta, and will use her position as CAO to serve as treasurer of the Drumheller and District Solid Waste Management Association.
A meet-and-greet with the new CAO is scheduled for Sept. 10 at the Badlands Community Facility.
