The Western Prairie Junior Klippers made an announcement on Wednesday night with the upcoming Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League season coming up soon.

"We’re proud to announce Mike Clayton as the new Head Coach of the Western Prairie Jr. Klippers," posted the team to social media.

"Originally from Rosetown, Mike began his journey in minor hockey before competing at the Senior level for three seasons. He then transitioned into officiating, dedicating 25 years to the role with professionalism and integrity."

An involved member of hockey in Kindersley, the team is excited to see another local coach behind the bench after Dale Jackson guided the first two seasons. According to the release, Clayton has called Kindersley home for the past six years, where he's served as a board member for the Kindersley Senior Klippers.

"Mike brings a wealth of experience, deep knowledge of the game, and a genuine passion for hockey. We’re excited for the leadership and energy he’ll bring to the bench, and we look forward to a strong season ahead under his guidance."

With that settled, the first order of business for the team will be fall camp coming up on September 13. It's at the Wet Central Events Centre in Kindersley, costs $100, and interested players can register HERE.
