Picking up off last week's provincial RCMP report involving Unity, Macklin RCMP say a man from British Columbia died following a high-speed incident near the community.

Police attempted a traffic stop after receiving multiple driving complaints in the Macklin area. The vehicle failed to stop and continued at a high rate of speed before crashing on Highway 675. The lone occupant, a 33-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not confirmed the vehicle in question was stolen despite comments online.

Other calls included an unfounded complaint of uttering threats, assistance provided to Provost RCMP, and an investigation into fuel theft from a local gas station.

RCMP continue to investigate and ask anyone with information about crimes in the Unity, Wilkie or Macklin areas to contact their local detachment or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
