For 21 years the St. Jean Quad Derby Raffle has been going strong with spectacular cash prizes and grand prizes that would make any ATV vehicle enthusiast race to the nearest ticket vendor and the 22nd raffle is no exception, another amazing grand prize is up for grabs!
The Grand Prize
Pat Schmitke is part of the Pembina Valley Twisters organization who are one of the recipients of the funds raised from this raffle and he told us all about the grand prize this year, "Oh, the grand prize is awesome. It's a 2025 Can-am Defender HD9 XT, in a gorgeous blue color. I think they call it "Dusty Navy", but it's a gorgeous color. Also comes with the trailer, which is a real bonus, value of that prize is somewhere pushing over 29,000 bucks!"
Cash Prizes
Pat continued with the cash prizes available as well, "So the way the way the raffle works is we have 3 prizes. The first ticket we pull out of the draw is for $500 cash. Then we put that ticket back in, then we draw for a second ticket for $1000 cash and we put that ticket back in and then we draw for the grand prize, which is the Can-Am Defender.
They could win all three prizes if luck was on their side! I'm not sure what the odds of that are happening, and I'm sure there'll be some questions if it did happen, but it could happen."
How the proceeds get put to work in the community
Pat Schmitke also touched on how the funds raised from this raffle support three main causes in the community, "So the money raised for the for this raffle is divvied up three ways, divided three ways between Pembina Valley Twisters, Red River Senior Wild Hockey and the St. Jean Rink. We divide it equally amongst all three of us, so it goes to three really good causes. Two hockey teams, we use that money to help promote hockey and other things in our communities. And of course, the St. Jean Arena, which is a fabulous little arena that always, like all arenas, need all the help they can get financially."
