A local oilfield service company is picking up the pieces after a weekend fire destroyed four of its trucks.
Lynco Hot Oilers 2018 Ltd. confirmed in a social media post that the blaze on Saturday night wiped out more than half of its fleet. Owners Jason Georget and Layne Wall said while the loss is significant, they are thankful no one was injured.
“Our livelihoods went up in flames,” the post read. “We’ll be OK, though. No one got hurt and that’s ALL that matters.”
The fire broke out at a shop north of Kindersley, just off Highway 21, shortly after 10 p.m. on Aug. 23. Kindersley Fire Department crews were on scene for nearly five hours, joined by EMS, RCMP, SaskPower, SaskEnergy, and other local support.
Despite the destruction of four hot oiler trucks, the company still has two units in service. Georget and Wall said they plan to continue operations while beginning the process of rebuilding.
“We’re extremely grateful for Kindersley Fire Department, EMS, RCMP, SaskPower and SaskEnergy,” they wrote, also thanking the Missere and Becker families for their support.
Community members have rallied online, offering words of encouragement and pledging to support the business as it recovers.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
