The future of the Humboldt Broncos was on display in their first preseason game on Sunday night in Melville as the Millionaires beat the Broncos 4-3 in a shootout.
Trailing 2-0 early in the second period, Boston Schmidt put the Broncos on the scoreboard with the team's first goal of the preseason.
Melville would later extend their lead to 3-1.
With less than a second remaining in the middle frame, Gabriel Kaminski scored to cut the green and gold deficit back to one heading into the final twenty minutes.
Broncos Charlie Nameth scored the only goal of the final period, sending the game into overtime before the two teams settled the game in a shootout.
Sheldon Alexander was the lone Bronco to score in the shootout, which went four rounds before the Millionaires won the game.
Wyatt Fleischhacker made 19 saves on 20 shots and stopped three of four shootout attempts.
Nicholas Goodwin made 12 saves on 14 shots.
Next action for the Broncos is Tuesday night in Kindersley against the Klippers
