The Riverhurst Ferry is temporarily closed due to weather conditions, according to Saskatchewan’s Provincial Highway Hotline.

As of the morning of September 4, the Riverhurst crossing is not in operation, while most other provincial ferries continue to run under normal conditions or with light-load restrictions. Travellers are advised to plan alternate routes and monitor updates from the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline.

The closure comes as part of routine safety precautions, with officials prioritizing public safety amid fluctuating river conditions and potentially hazardous weather. The provincial ferry service encourages motorists to check ferry status online or by contacting the Highway Hotline before travelling.

The status of other ferries in the province remains largely unaffected, with the Cecil, Clarkboro, Fenton, Hague, Lancer, Paynton, Saint Laurent, Weldon, Wingard, and Wollaston Lake Barge ferries all operating normally. The Estuary and Lemsford ferries are limited to light loads only.

Public updates and ferry information are available at the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline or through local media channels.
