Our partnership for this year's 50/50 for Change will offer Saskatchewan residents a chance to support a local charity aiming to build vital recreational facilities for the southwest.
Golden West Broadcasting will team up with the Southwest Facility Foundation from September 12 until October 6 for the 9th annual 50/50 for Change.
"We're eager to aid the Southwest Facility Foundation in its mission to provide the region with essential improved recreation and leisure facilities," said Golden West Broadcasting Swift Current's program director, David Zammit. "Their mission since launching the fundraising campaign 23 months ago has been captivating to watch, and now we have our chance to help move them towards the goal."
The non-profit has raised $4.6 million since MNP made the first donation in October 2023. Their goal of $8 million will support the City of Swift Current's efforts to secure grant funding for recreational facilities from the federal and provincial governments.
"This partnership with Golden West Broadcasting is another great fundraiser that anyone can get involved in to help bring a new Aquatic Facility to the Southwest and with it have a chance to win some big cash," said Sasha Godenir, Chair of the Southwest Facility Foundation. "Purchase your 50/50 tickets, contribute to a much-needed cause, and you might just walk away with a prize that changes your life."
Don't wait to purchase tickets, 1 for $10 or 20 for $100, as there is a $5,000 early bird prize draw on September 20 at 1 p.m. at Market Square. The grand prize draw, up to $93,725, will be drawn on October 6 at 2 p.m. at Golden West Broadcasting's Swift Current location.
"This is an initiative that the entire community is rallying behind; it's truly time to build it," said Golden West Broadcasting's Catelyn Kerr.
The first on-site location to purchase 50/50 for Change tickets will be at the Go-Green BBQ on September 12 during lunch. For updated locations to buy tickets, keep a close eye on Swift Current Online or our social media accounts, Country 94.1, Magic 97, and CKSW 570 & CJSN 1490.
We've raised over $142,000 since 50/50 for Change began, with eight non-profits taking home half that amount, and eight locals winning big.
