The Luseland Police Service says officers responded to a wide range of calls throughout August, from suspicious activity and theft reports to wellness checks and mental health calls.
According to the service’s monthly report, police received 10 complaints related to suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity. Officers also dealt with two general driving complaints, an abandoned vehicle, and a bylaw call regarding dogs at large.
Officers responded to three alarm calls, two reports of theft under $5,000, a mischief complaint, and a fraud file under $5,000, which has since been resolved. Police also provided assistance to the neighbouring RCMP with a stolen vehicle investigation.
The report notes that police conducted wellness checks on two youth, responded to a mental health call, and provided a courtesy transport for one man. Officers also transported a prisoner to Saskatoon, where he was remanded.
Two requests to keep the peace and two separate dispute complaints, one involving neighbours and one involving family, were also handled during the month.
The service says one incident remains under investigation after a vehicle fled during a traffic stop.
