A humbling moment from the Holy Spirit was the turning point in Bodie Kuljian's music career.

The 32-year-old singer who goes by bodie recently said in an interview with The Christian Post, that while he always loved Jesus, he was afraid to switch to making Christian music. "I didn't want to lose the audience of people who hated Jesus and hated the Church. I still wanted to write music that gave them glimpses of hope."

While in prayer, he heard from the Holy Spirit who said to him. "You don't choose who you reach. I choose that."

Shortly after that humbling moment, bodie would sign with Provident, a Christian record label. Since signing, he has seen how God has used him and his music. "Since then, God's reached more people than I ever could have imagined; those who love the Church, hate the Church, and everyone in between."

Following the success of "Whisper and the Wind", bodies first full length album, No Skips, was released on September 5.

During the writing process, he admits most of the songs weren't written with an album in mind. "I was just writing songs that were true to me, things God had put on my heart. Later, when it came time to think about an album, we picked the songs that made the most sense together."

He is excited for listeners to hear the songs on the project. "Each song represents a different season of someone's life, navigating what it looks like to be human, figuring out how to walk with God, how to navigate relationships with others and with yourself."

bodie values honesty in his songwriting and shares about how he has turned to God through his own struggles. "It's important to write songs that acknowledge, 'Hey, I've messed up, and I still do sometimes. But God redeems everyone. No one is unredeemable."

While he has been making music for several years, the California worship leader said without his breakout time on Season 22 of 'The Voice', his move to full time Christian music would have been unlikely, as fans were used to seeing a different side of him. "Singing 'Gratitude' in the finale was really the start of God working on my heart. That moment on 'The Voice' was like a magnifying glass; it gave me a platform, but it also set me on a new trajectory."

He is currently on tour with Elevation Rhythm before heading out with Seph Schlueter later in the fall.
