The Country Music Association (CMA) and its awards show include nominations for crossover songs, such as the recent single by Brandon Lake featuring Jelly Roll, "Hard Fought Hallelujah."

The CMAs are celebrating their 59th awards event this year, and earlier this week, they made the announcement for all the nominations.

"What the heck?!!" said Lake. "What an honor! So thankful to Jelly Roll for carrying this song with me. Thank you, Country Music for recognizing what’s happening with this song and collaboration. And to God be all the glory!”

This is Lake's first nomination in the country music scene, nominated for “Musical Event of the Year.”

This summer, "Hard Fought Hallelujah" went Platinum after hitting a million streams/sales.

Other Christian artists have crossed over and also been nominated for previous CMA awards shows. Some include Needtobreathe with their song that features Carrie Underwood, "I Wanna Remember." Another Christian artist is Anne Wilson, who was nominated for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year for her song "Rain in the Rearview."
