Saskatoon Hilltops stopped in Eatonia for pregame practice ahead of Calgary matchup

The Saskatoon Hilltops made a stop in Eatonia this week, using a local high school field for a pregame practice.

After their team bus suffered a blown tire, the Hilltops' offensive coaches took advantage of the delay to run a practice session with the defensive squad, with the help of Eatonia Junior Spartans players.

John Stevens, a local Spartan alumnus, sported his old Spartan jersey for practice and is an inspiration to the young football players in Eatonia.

Lisa Presler, who shared the story on social media, praised the Hilltops for leaving a “lasting memory” with the local players and fostering a love of the game.

The Hilltops faced the Calgary Colts on Sunday with a 51-3 win in the matchup.
