Everything is happening at Global Pet Foods in Cochrane
The mother/daughter team of Fiona and Christine are celebrating their 13th anniversary which happened back in June and will be offering storewide savings to mark the occasion.
"We had our 13th birthday back in June, but it was so chaotic that we thought we'd just let everyone enjoy the summer." said Fiona, Christine's mom. "Now that everyone's back, let's have a party with everything revolving around the number thirteen! We built on the idea of 13 because it is considered a great number,” said Fiona. "It can represent transformation, renewal and new beginnings. So, it's like we are starting a new chapter of our family owned and operated business."
Global Pet Foods anniversary event will be held on September 20th at their store located at 320 First Street West in Historic Downtown Cochrane. It will feature 13 per cent off all in-stock items and up to 50 per cent off door-crasher deals. Enter to win gift baskets and if you spend $100 or more you receive a cat or dog swag bag while supplies last!
The Cochrane and Area Humane Society will be parked out front of the store with puppies looking for their forever-homes from 10am to 1pm.
"People can expect a barrel of monkeys in the fun department" said Christine, "and the usual chaos".
It will also be a chance for the two women to thank their community for their many years of ongoing support.
It was back in 2012 that Fiona opened the doors of Global Pet Foods Cochrane. A few months later Christine came on board after considering careers opportunities in BC. She quickly realized her extensive years of experience in the retail industry would be a great help to her mom and decided to stay in Cochrane, becoming a partner in 2015.
"It became this successful, family-run business because Mum and I were the faces of the store" Christine explained. "Thirteen years later, we've seen a lot of changes in our community."
Something that hasn't changed is the unique connection forged between the store and the community it serves.
"We've been a part of our customers' lives, watching them grow through love and success, including their losses and heartaches” Christine reflects. "What's most important to me from our journey is how much the community has rallied around us and supported us in the same way".
Fiona points out, Global Pet Foods Cochrane is passionate about supporting local events, fundraisers and non-profit organizations.
"This sale is to celebrate the 13 years that we’ve been in business" says Christine. "It's also to celebrate 13 years of a community that are not only customers, but also friends who have become our extended family".
Global Pet Foods' 13th anniversary sale will be held on Saturday September 20th at 320 First Street West in Historic Downtown Cochrane from 9am to 5:30pm.
