On Sept. 6, 2025, around 3:10 a.m., Grande Cache RCMP responded to reports of a man who had just been assaulted by several people, possibly up to 4, near Grande Cache Community High Schol. EMS was on scene and tended to the victim while he spoke to police, stating they had stolen from him and identifying one suspect. The victim was then transported by EMS to the hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. One suspect was later located and arrested, though RCMP are still trying to identify the other suspects.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male Grande Cache resident has been arrested and charges for Aggravated assault and Theft under $5000 are pending. He has been released on conditions with a tentative court date scheduled at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Cache on Nov. 20, 2025.
Grande Cache RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in relation to this incident. Anyone with footage of the area around the Grande Cache Community High School from Sept. 6, 2025, between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., is asked to please review the footage and submit anything that may be pertinent to the investigation.
