A day-long manhunt for a Fort St John man with warrants resulted in additional charges after an early-afternoon arrest near Peace Island Park in Taylor, BC.

On September 11, 2025, at approximately 9:55 am the Fort St John Street Enforcement Team (SET), Peace-Liard Police Dog Services (PDS), the North District Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Fort St John RCMP Frontline members executed a Feeney Warrant at a residence in Fort St John with the assistance of a Tactical Armoured Vehicle.

The warrant granted entry to the residence in search of 39-year-old Johnathon Michael Peters who was wanted on warrants for Uttering Threats, Mischief Over $5000, Refusal to Provide a Sample, Obstructing a Peace Officer and Breach of Release Order.

Peters was not located at the residence and additional information suggested he may be in Taylor, BC.

Shortly before noon, ERT members attempted a traffic stop with a side-by-side in Taylor which Peters was believed to be driving. The side-by-side fled into the Peace Island Park area and was monitored by a tracking team, drones and Air Services until it became inoperable on an island of the Pine River. At approximately 2:00 pm, Peters was taken into custody by PDS and ERT members.

Peters was held for court and now faces additional charges for Flight from a Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
