The second annual New Bothwell Fire and Friends Festival is coming back in a blaze of glory on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Tayleigh Giesbrecht, recreation programmer at the RM of Hanover Recreation Department, says the evening will ignite fun for all ages.

Taking place at New Bothwell park under the covered outdoor rink, the day is full of community.
“The fire department will be there doing activities for the kids, like an obstacle course, letting them put on the turnout gear, practicing with the fire hose, and so much more,” Giesbrecht explains.
In addition to the hands-on activities, a DJ will be spinning tracks from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
“You can come out and dance with your friends,” Giesbrecht notes.
To satisfy your senses, a free dinner will be provided for all to enjoy.
“Farmer sausage burgers, hot dogs with chips and a drink. There’ll be brownies, popcorn, and coffee also being served.”
She says door prizes and a silent auction will take place during the evening events.
After a festival of community spirit, the day wraps up with fireworks at 8:30 p.m., lighting up the sky and ending the night with a bang.
No registration or fee required — just show up and enjoy the evening.
