Dozens of residents were outside of the Strathmore Family Centre to kick off the regular season for the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings.

The local hockey team hosted a home opener tailgate party in the centre's parking lot on Friday (Sept. 19), which featured live music, hot food, and cold drinks.

After a strong preseason, the Kings carried the momentum into the regular season, starting with a 6-2 home victory against the Ponoka Stampeders after the party.
