The Saskatchewan Highway Hotline has issued updates on provincial ferry operations, with two ferries currently closed due to low water levels.

The Lancer and Paynton ferries are not operating, while other ferries remain open with either normal or limited load capacities. Light-load restrictions are in place at the Estuary and Lemsford ferries, allowing crossings of up to 4,000 kg and 7,500 kg respectively.

Normal operations continue at the Cecil, Clarkboro, Fenton, Hague, Riverhurst, Saint Laurent, Weldon, Wingard, and Wollaston Lake Barge ferries, though maximum weight limits vary depending on the location.

Motorists are encouraged to check ferry conditions before travelling at Saskatchewan Highway Hotline or via the hotline’s recorded reports at 306-787-7623 (Regina area), 306-933-8333 (Saskatoon area), or toll-free at 1-888-335-7623. Updates are also available on Twitter at @SKGovHwyHotline.

With two ferries closed and two operating at reduced capacity, travellers are advised to plan routes accordingly and exercise caution when crossing provincial waterways.
