Sports are a big part of any school community, and Plenty's North West Central School did not waste any time getting in the Wildcat spirit when school started back at the start of October.
On the gridiron, the senior football team just earned their first win of the season on Tuesday against Macklin and will now be reversing course for a rematch on Friday. The next Wildcats home game is Thursday, October 2, their second last game of the regular season going back to October 9 in Biggar.
Feeding the senior team with players, Plenty also has a strong junior Wildcats program that opened their season back on September 17. The next junior game day is September 25 in Plenty against Macklin, another home game on September 30 with Eatonia paying a visit.
Going back to September 11 is when the school held their second pep rally of the early school year.
Not only did the football team have their first home game, but the cross-country team took part in their first race, and volleyball teams competed at a season opening tournament in Wilkie.
Unfortunately, the Cross-Country team had to miss the pep rally to get on the road, as it was just the football, volleyball, and even golf athletes celebrating along with the rest of their school, and mascot!
The school year may have just started, but the Wildcats are in mid-season form celebrating their squads.
While the football team continues their schedule, cross-country season is working toward provincials coming up October 11 in Yorkton, the Wildcats volleyball programs are getting in as many tournaments as possible before provincial play starts to creep up at the end of fall, and finally golfers have been hitting the course competing for a spot at their respective district and provincial tournaments as well.
