Ambrose Assin
OCTOBER 1, 1965 – DECEMBER 27, 2021
Ambrose Assin, age 56, of Winnipeg, Manitoba a member of Grassy Narrows First Nation passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021. Ambrose was born October 1, 1965 in Kenora, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Anna Assin, brother Glen Assin, sister Penelope Cruz, nieces Sophia, Felicia, Alicia and Hilary Ashopenace.
He is survived by his siblings Joe Fontaine, Benny Meeseewaypetung, Michelle Mahoney and Clyde Meeseewaypetung. His daughter Anastasia (Truo Skead), son Riley Payash, Penny, grandchildren Flower Payash, Acen (Chloe) Necanapenace, Ayiana Payash, Rayden Payash-Skead, great granddaughter Grace Necanapenace. As well as nieces and nephews Julie, Leah, Nicole, Griffin, Clyde Jr., Neil, Glen Jr., Mitchell, Tara, Cody, Josh, Louis, Sage, Thunder, Chelsea, Chris, Isabella, Anna, Michael and Janet and many others too numerous to mention.
He enjoyed playing hockey, guitar, fishing, he was a Teacher's Assistant and also enjoyed the outdoors.
A wake service for Ambrose will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Trappers Builing, Grassy Narrows, Ontario. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at Trappers Building. Ambrose will be laid to rest in Grassy Narrows First Nation, Grassy Narrows, Ontario.
