Of the new cases, Regina had 254 and Saskatoon 229. There were 124 new cases in the South East region, and 62 in the Central East region. Another 60 cases were reported in the North Central region. There were 49 new cases in the North West region, 46 in the South Central region, 35 in the South West and 29 in the North East. Another 12 cases were reported in the Far North East, five in the Far North West, four in the Central West and two in the Far North Central.

Breaking the new cases down by age groups, there were 39 new cases under the age of five, with 68 between the ages of 5 and 11. There were 104 in the 12-19 age group, 364 in the 20-39 age group, 293 in the 40-59 age group, 93 in the 60-79 group and 48 in the 80 and over group.

An update is expected to be released Sunday afternoon, with the surveillance moving to a weekly basis on Thursday. It was noted last week that when the announcement was made this will bring the reporting and surveillance for COVID-19 in line with other communicable diseases such as influenza.
