Archie Ashopenace – a resident of Grassy Narrows First Nation passed away on February 3, 2022 in Grassy Narrows First Nation.

He was predeceased by his parents Madeline and Richard Ashopenace Sr., his sister Mary Madeline Ashopenace, his brothers Barney and Tony Ashopenace, his nephew Wesley Pahpasay, his great grandson Tyrease Payash, his nieces Felicia, Alicia and Hilary Ashopenace, Heather Pahpasay, his aunts and uncles Cecilia McKenzie, Irene Pigeon, Amelia Hyacinthe, Albert and Mike Stone, Agnes Hyacinthe, as well as numerous relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

He is survived by his sisters and brother Sally, Richard, Patricia (Ervin) and Rachel (Tyrone), nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Warren, Olivia, Trevor, Dominique, Richie, Alexis, Raven, Tashina and children, Katrina, Evan, Winston, Bethanie and children, Ruben, Malcolm, Latisha, Rianne(Robbie), Jamie (Keon), Violet, Clifford (Christine), Rosemary (Vince), Rosalee (Rodney) Bruce, Che’, Keiyannah, Skyler, Skyla, John, Alora, Dericah, Sharice, R.J. (Brianna), Freda, Janessa, Jody, Arona, Brody, Mayleen, Tyrone, Ashton, Janelle (Kane), Trinity, Tishawn, Logan, Mercedes, Hilary, Ferrari, Burton, Furious, Haylo, Honey, Ezekiel, Heath, Kallen, Champion, Charli, DeAndre, Cole, Anthony, Darwin and Hans. He will also be missed by Aunties and uncles Mary Nelson, Archie Hyacinthe and Katherine Fobister, as well as numerous friends and many relatives too numerous to mention.

Wake service will begin on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Minnow Say Win Building in Grassy Narrows. Funeral Service will be held on February 9, 2022 at 11:00 am with Jason Fobister officiating with interment to follow in Grassy Narrows First Nation.
