----Update-----

As of around 7:30 a.m. on Friday (February 11, 2022) the disabled vehicle has been cleared, and the eastbound lane is reopened.

-----Original Story Below-----

The eastbound lane on Highway 17 between Gundy Road and the Highway 673 junction is closed due to a disabled vehicle.

The Ministry of Transportation is asking motorists to please use caution while in the area.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for the region with total snowfall amounts of 7 to 15 cm.

They said motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Road conditions around the region vary from bare to partly covered, according to the Ministry of Transportation.

Road conditions can be found on the Fix Auto Road Report Page.
