-----Update-----
The TransCanada is now open for travel from Hadashville to Winnipeg.
-----Original Story Below-----
The TransCanada Highway is closed 13 km west of Hadashville to Winnipeg as an early morning blizzard hit southeastern Manitoba. At just after 8:00 a.m. this morning Environment Canada issued a blizzard warning for the area.
The agency is saying travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. If you become stranded in a vehicle do not leave.
Blizzard warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours.
