William John Churney Jr.

AUGUST 12, 1960 – FEBRUARY 11, 2022

It is with heavy hearts the family of William (Bill) Churney Jr. was informed that he passed away tragically in Red Deer, Alberta on February 11, 2022 at 61 years of age.

Bill was born in Kenora on August 12, 1960.

He is predeceased by his Father, Bill Sr. and his Mother, Helen (Wade), as well as numerous Aunts and Uncles. Unfortunately, he never met any of his Grandparents.

Bill is lovingly remembered and mourned by his sister Wendy (Marty) and his two nephews Martin Jr., and Michael, and his Aunt Evelyn Makinen as well as many cousins.

He was an extremely hard worker and gifted carpenter, a trade that he inherited from his Dad. He was working out west both in Alberta and British Columbia for the last 15 years. He was completely in awe of the scenic country especially the mountains in BC.

Bill was an avid outdoors man and loved to go fishing, hunting, and camping in his younger years with family and friends.

He was an avid hockey fan and played goalie at a young age. He loved animals and was known to have a dog by his side as well as the odd cat!!

He was so looking forward to returning to Kenora to meet his three great nephews, Ryan, Jace and Sawyer and the 4th great nephew Halen who was born on Saturday, February 20th!

Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred at a private family service sometime this summer. Bill's final resting place will be here at home in the Lake of the Woods Cemetery with his Dad and Mom.

The family would like to thank Cory of the Brown's Funeral Home for his caring and compassion during this difficult time.

Rest in Peace Uncle Bill!
