Madeline Severight

OCTOBER 23, 1958 – FEBRUARY 26, 2022

It is with great sorrow we announce that our beloved Madeline Severight nee Landon, Wabaanakootook of the Phizhew clan, has gone on her journey to the spirit world on February 26, 2022 at the age of 63.

She was born and raised in Shoal Lake, Ontario and was a Residential School Survivor.

Madeline is survived by her children, Michele, Frank, Ingrid (George) and Melissa; her siblings Bert (Eleanor), Garnet (Cathy), Dudley, Marilyn (Delbert), Darlene and Melody, her grandchildren Blaze, Jessie, Tyra, Emily, Ethan, Miles, Breena, Ronnie, Elijah, Robin, Raven, Avery, Trayson, Lacey, Sienna, Mathias and Odin, great grandchildren, Alaia and Cain. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins too many to name.

She is predeceased by her parents, Clifford Kesick and Bessie Landon, her best friend and baby daughter Mary Allison Rae, sisters Donna and Brenna, grandparents, David and Mary Kesick, Paddy Landon and Frieda Redsky. Nieces Crystal (CG) and Donia, nephew Clifford.

Madeline loved picking blueberries, playing cards especially Mexican 13 and gin with her buddies from Whitedog Ontario. She was known for her famous soups, potato salad and thrift shopping for hours. Madeline enjoyed the outdoors and fishfrys.

She was always caring and welcoming to everyone and at her place of employment at the Day Care in Whitedog and made everyone smile. She loved working with the kids, especially the babies, she got along with everyone and will be truly missed.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg MB for their support and taking special care of our beloved, Madeline.

A wake service for Madeline will begin on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Shoal Lake # 39 First Nation Community Centre, Shoal Lake, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 10:00 am at Shoal Lake # 39 First Nation Community Centre. Burial will follow in Shoal Lake # 39 First Nation.
