Growing a strong connection between RCMP, local government, and residents is the goal of Fort Saskatchewan's Community Policing Committee.

The volunteer group consists of six members of the public and one city council member.

Stewart Begg is the chair of the committee, and he joined JP on The MIX Morning Grind to discuss the responsibilities of the group and how residents can have a say in shaping public safety in the city.

He also talked about a special virtual town hall taking place on March 16 that will allow for the public to learn more and ask questions about the role of RCMP in Fort Saskatchewan. To be a part of the event, email policingcommittee@fortsask.ca and you will receive an invitation.
