Police say there was an armed robbery with two shots fired at the Brant Hotel on Wednesday night.

Police have released information on an armed robbery in Fort Saskatchewan.

Around 9:01 p.m. on Wednesday (Apr. 13), an unknown man entered the lounge of the Brant Hotel, fired a black shotgun and demanded cash. He left with an unknown amount of money before shooting the gun a second time and then fleeing in a grey Honda sedan.

One man was hurt and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released. Witnesses say he was a patron at the bar.

The suspect is described as being between 5'8" and 6' tall and weighing about 200 lbs. He has a medium build and was wearing a black jacket with white lettering, sunglasses, a balaclava, a black baseball cap and faded blue jeans.

The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP is asking for witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage in the area of 100 Avenue and 103 Street around 8:45 p.m. that night to contact the detachment at 780-997-7900.
