Average gas prices jumped eight cents over last week in Alberta

Despite rising gas prices across Canada, Albertans can rejoice in having the lowest gas prices in the country.

In Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park, regular gas prices are currently $1.59/litre, while in nearby Edmonton, prices hover around $1.55/litre.

Alberta's average price of $1.52/litre was up eight cents from last week.

You can find the cheapest gas in the area at Costco, where the price is reported to be $1.49/litre.

On the national level, Canadians are paying an average of $1.87/litre.
