A teenager was recently charged for pointing a gun at a Sherwood Park taxi driver.

On May 5, Strathcona County RCMP received a 911 call regarding a payment dispute between the driver and the three passengers. During the confrontation, one of the passengers pointed a handgun at the driver. No one was injured.

Police located two of the suspects and identified the third believed to be carrying the gun. As a result, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, was located and charged with pointing a firearm.

The teen was released on an undertaking and is due in court on June 14. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, he cannot be named.
