The spray park at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre will be reopening soon.
The spray park is tentatively scheduled to open Friday, June 3rd, remaining open daily after that says Michelle Everett, sales and marketing manager of the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.
The spray park has seen it's usership grow throughout the last couple of years, even through the pandemic. Everett attributes this growth to the fact that the park became free to use, "ever since we offered it for free it's had a lot of good uptake and we got a sponsor in at that time, Bow Rivers Edge Campground. With that help of sponsorship that could contribute to being able to offer it for free... people love the fact that they could use it for free, they didn't have to come inside they could just park and go into the spray park".
Going into this season, "We do think that it's going to be busier than ever for sure this year", says Everett, listing reasons like rises in membership, tourism in the area, and of course the fact that it is free to use for all ages regardless of membership as reasons to believe the area will be used more than ever before.
Along with the spray park, throughout the Summer the SLSFSC will be offering other programs and activities for kids. "We've got really high enrolment for our day camps they're very popular. We'll put out bouncers and have different play areas for little kids and parents", Everett says.
