Four U15 AAA Fort Saskatchewan Rangers have been drafted to the Western Hockey League (WHL).

Taylor Green, the WHL Manager of Hockey Operations, gave a little insight into each player's strengths.

The team's captain Kale Dach was drafted in the fifth round, 95th overall by the Calgary Hitmen.

"He is a really intelligent two-way player, someone that teams can be really confident in playing on either end of the ice. I think the team’s really excited about his ability to kind of have no real weaknesses in his game. He can do a little bit of everything.”

Parker Seymour, who is an assistant captain for the Rangers, was selected just a pick later, 96th overall, by the Spokane Chiefs.

“He’s got good size. He is a smart, two-way defenceman and a really good skater.”

Jaden Kokosha was drafted by the Winnipeg Ice in the ninth round, 198th overall.

“He is 6’3" already at 14-years-old. He is big, he's a good shooter, and he can score. He moves pretty well for his size too, so I think he has a lot to offer.”

Kokoshais from Ardrossan.

Another assistant captain for the Rangers, Hunter Yanick, has been selected by the Kamloops Blazers in the 11th round.

“He plays with a lot of pace. [He] moves around the ice really, really well. He is disruptive on the forecheck. He can get in and cause kind of chaos for opposing teams trying to break the puck out.”

Yanick went 239th overall.

Green added that the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers Athletic Club has produced many successful athletes in the WHL.

“It’s not necessarily a surprise to see four players drafted out of their program. Certainly, they do an excellent job developing young players. But, at the same time, it is a phenomenal accomplishment for those four young men.”

All updates for the club and these players can be found on the Fort Sask Minor Hockey Facebook page
