Police have provided an update on a collision that shut down a local highway last week.

On May 29 at 5:24 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a 911 call about a head-on collision on Highway 15 near Range Road 213 east of Fort Saskatchewan.

Police say a vehicle travelling eastbound on the highway crossed the centreline, colliding with a westbound truck. The driver of the truck, an 18-year-old female, was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 59-year-old male driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital by STARS, where he was also treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was cleared by the afternoon.
