Moose Jaw athletes picked up a total of 12 medals at the SHSAA High School Track and Field Provincials in Regina over the weekend.
Aliyah Block from Cornerstone Christian School was the golden girl. She picked up gold medals in the senior girls’ discus and shot put.
Arianna Wakeford from Peacock picked up a silver medal in the senior girls’ triple jump, while Central’s Jadyn Palaschuk placed second to win a silver medal in the senior girls’ 3,000-metre event.
Katie Rogers added to Central’s medal haul with a pair of silver medals in the intermediate girls’ 1,500 metres and 3,000-metre long-distance events.
Central’s Javin Boynton won silver in the junior boys’ 100-metre dash, while Kylie Howe was a silver medalist in the junior girls’ triple jump.
Akuol Riak from Central was a double medalist. She won bronze medals in the senior girls’ 400 metres and 800 metres.
Jacob King picked up a bronze medal as well for Central in the senior boys’ 400-metre event.
Riverview’s Jake Gyman rounded out the medal haul for the Moose Jaw athletes with a bronze medal in the senior boys’ hurdles.
Overall, the Central Cyclones won the team title for the 4A schools ahead of Peacock Collegiate.
