Graduating student athletes from Fort Saskatchewan High School are leaving with a prestigious award.

Tori Radford, Georgia LeBlanc and Grayson Reed from Fort Saskatchewan won Metro Athletics all-star awards on Wednesday (Jun. 8)

Radford has been playing volleyball since Grade 6 in school and with the Fort Sask Attack volleyball club.

She was given the Women's Volleyball All-star Award for Metro High School Athletics 2022.

“I would like to thank my parents, all of my coaches, and everyone that has supported me on my sports journey,” said Radford.

At this time Radford has no plans to continue volleyball in post-secondary as she will be going to MC College but didn't count it out for the future.

Grayson Reed was awarded the Men's Basketball All-star Award for Metro High School Athletics 2022.

“My sister won one when she was in grade 11 and she has hung that over my head for a while. So it feels good to accomplish something that was put above my head for a while,” said Reed.

He has played basketball for six years.

Reed intends to go on a mission trip right after graduation for two years and then come back and go to post-secondary from there.

He has expressed interest in revisiting basketball in the future.

The third Fort Saskatchewan athlete that won an all-star award was Leblanc. She won the Women’s Basketball Award for Metro High School Athletics 2022 but was not available for comment.
