Morinville RCMP is again asking the public for help in solving the death of an Edmonton teenager.

Angel Cardinal, 19, was killed in a hit-and-run on Highway 28 in the early morning hours of Feb. 26 earlier this year. Reports of the incident came in at 5:22 a.m. from an unknown man using a phone calling app.

Family described Cardinal, a mother of two, as "a bright, beautiful soul, with a contagious smile and laughter, gentle eyes, and a giving heart."

"Despite continued efforts, the RCMP have yet to identify those responsible for this tragic event and continue to seek input from the public," RCMP wrote in a statement.

Police are looking for anyone who may have been travelling on Highway 28 near the Anthony Henday on Feb. 26, 2022, between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Additionally, they're looking to speak to those who knew Cardinal in hopes of providing insight as to why she was in the area at the time.

Anyone with information regarding Cardinal's death is asked to contact the Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4520 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
