We could see some sunshine on Friday before the rain picks up again on Saturday.

More dreary weather is on the way for the Fort Saskatchewan area.

Just over 40 mm of rain fell over the capital region in the last day or so, with the potential for another 5-10 mm today and thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow.

Winds gusting from the northwest today could reach speeds of up to 60 km/hr, making things feel extra damp and cool.

The good news is that we could see a little relief from the gloomy skies as Friday’s forecast calls for sunshine at 22 C. The bad news is that it won't last long as the rain is set to return on Saturday.

At least the ducks are happy.
