Enrolment pressures are beginning to weigh on James Mowat Elementary School.
Elk Island Public Schools has hosted one in-person session already to hear feedback on how to address the growing number of students and will hold another one tomorrow (Jun. 16).
"Right now James Mowat Elementary has become over subscribed. We are increasing the school's capacity through the addition of a modular this year. However enrollment projections indicate that the school will again become over subscribed," said Brent Dragon, the planner for EIPS.
The school is looking to hear from parents and community members to aid in creating a long-term solution to these challenges.
In addition to the in-person meeting, EIPS will be doing an online and telephone survey.
Tomorrow's session is in the James Mowat Elementary school gym at 5:30 p.m.
Childcare will be provided for all who wish to attend.
