Police reveal date they'll start issuing fines for new speed limits

The adjustment period is over for the new speed limits in the city. 

Fort Saskatchewan Municipal Enforcement Services and the RCMP will start issuing fines in the new areas as of Thursday (June 16).

June 16 marks the 30-day educational period for speed limit changes. 

Changes include:

• All unmarked residential roads moving to 40 km/hr
• Certain collector roads (including Pineview Ring Road, Allard Way, and Greenfield Way) decreased from 50 km/hr to 40 km/hr
• Some roads increased to 60 km/hr
• Highway 15 east of 119 Street to the city limit increased to 80 km/hr

Speed limit changes in mid-May aligned with the city’s commitment to the Vision Zero traffic safety program.
