Road work continues for some of Kenora’s most flooded areas.
The City of Kenora will begin the remedial work to raise the grade on Sedesky Road today, June 20. The work is expected to be completed this week, in time for the re-opening of the road.
During this time, Sedesky Road will remain closed and no vehicular traffic will be allowed through the work site.
Crews are also expected to begin to raise the grade of Coker Road East of Kelly Road this week. This section of Coker Road remains closed and no vehicular traffic will be permitted through the work site.
According to the City, they are continuing to monitor the water levels on Second West Bay Road. Residents should be prepared for a reduction of the road, either a single lane or full road closure, if the water levels continue to rise.
In a statement, the city said “We understand these road closures have been frustrating for many of our residents.”
“It is important to understand there are numerous factors that need to be considered and each situation has been evaluated and assessed by professionals who have the best interest of the City and our residents in mind. We thank everyone for their continued patience.”
