Garth Brooks will play two shows in Edmonton on June 24 and 25.
Categories

This Friday and Saturday, Garth Brooks will be headlining two sold-out stadium shows in Edmonton.

Here are five things you need to know before attending the concerts at Commonwealth Stadium.

1. You will need a clear, small bag.

As per the stadium’s bag policy, this is what will be accepted:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12.”
  • No buckles, grommets/hardware or décor can conceal any part of the bag. It must be all clear.
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (zipper bag or similar).

Small clutch bags, which cannot exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.

2. There will be buses running from multiple spots in Fort Saskatchewan such as The Canadian Brewhouse, Hrehorets Bus Service and The Bears Den. Some of these services have posted they are sold out, enquire for more details.

Buses are also available in Edmonton and other surrounding communities.

Plan to not park by the stadium as availability is extremely limited. Other ideas include taxis, an Uber or using the LRT.

3. The forecast currently shows some rain on Friday evening, so if that is your show make sure you bring a poncho.

As for umbrellas:

  • Collapsible umbrellas smaller than 16” are permitted but cannot be opened inside the stadium or while sitting in the stands impeding other patron’s views.
  • Umbrellas larger than 16” or with a point will not be permitted.

4. Beware of resale scammers. If you are thinking of getting last-minute tickets to the show, keep your guard up and use verified resellers.

Ticketmaster has safe and protected ticket transfer technology through their app.

5. Keep your phone charged.

Nowadays virtual tickets have become the standard. The last thing you want to do is get to the show and not be able to present your ticket because your phone died. A good tip is to bring a portable charger in your clear bag.

Gates open at 5 p.m. — 7 p.m. is the listed start time for both nights.
